Samuel Ware (1781 - 1860)
RA Collection: Art
This large drawing appears to have been made just after the completion of the major works by Ware to Burlington House for Lord George Cavendish, including the service blocks, conversion of the east block into a residence for his son, the creation of a link building in the northwest corner of the courtyard, and new stables, plus the recently opened Burlington Arcade. It also shows the drains and water pipes for both properties. Of particular interest are the labelling of every room in the house, in east and west blocks, and the shops in the Burlington Arcade. This drawing is very similar to RA 06/5760.
