The 4 plates with illustrations to The peacock "at home" are hand coloured. Eight pages of ornithological notes follow Mrs. Dorset's poem (p. [11]-18). Separate title-page, p. [19]: The Butterfly's Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast. By Mr. Roscoe. Harris's List of 1s. 6d. books coloured, [1] p. at end. Printer statement (p. 24): London: / Printed by Samuel Bentley, / Dorset Street Fleet Street. In camel-coloured stiff paper wrappers.
On the lower part of the inner back wrapper is an inscription in ink in an unidentified hand regarding the history of Bedford Row.
