Consider abstract ways to express the body in this workshop for adults facing barriers.

Explore the figure in motion in this workshop inspired by works in our free display Observation to Abstraction. Using a range of mark making materials such as charcoal, you’ll experiment with ways to express the body through shape, texture, and composition. This session encourages playful exploration of how abstract forms can convey movement, emotion, and the essence of the human figure.

The session will be led by artist Sam Ayre alongside a small team of experienced assistants. Family, friends and plus ones are all welcome and recommended, particularly if one-to-one support is required.

There will be a breakout space available, with a selection of sensory aids.

The event is free and no booking is required. Please complete this short form to share access requirements with us in advance.

Capacity is limited and this workshop series is in high demand. We kindly ask community groups to bring no more than 6-8 people, inclusive of support staff, to ensure we can safely meet everyone's needs on the day.
