Exercise: draw your opposite hand with your opposite hand
Published on 10 January 2025
Exercise your creativity with a quick drawing challenge, set by Emyr Williams.
The challenge
RA Sketch Club tutor Emyr Williams challenges you to draw your opposite hand drawing, with that hand.
So if you’re right-handed, use your left hand to draw a picture of your left hand drawing.
You will need
- paper
- pencil
Drawing with your opposite hand slows down your looking which in turn helps you absorb more visual information.

Now try
Now use your regular hand to draw your regular hand drawing, on the same drawing.
